Setting initialization parameters
The web.xml file, located in the Web-inf directory, also defines the initialization parameters for a Web application. You can define the following values in the web.xml file:

default values for the application, such as:

login configuration, which can be defined as Basic, Form-based, or Client-cert.
security roles, which define the ACL roles a user must have in order to use the application. Specifying "*" defines the role requirement as being a standard Domino group member, which every authenticated user belongs to by default.
security constraints, which constrain certain application resources from being accessed by users. This value is specified using the following two elements in conjunction:
Specifying "All" as the web-resource-collection value and "*" as the auth-constraint role-name indicates that all of the application resources are accessible to all logged in users.
